Welfare

Safeguarding

Everyone at the club, especially children and young people, should be able to enjoy swimming in a safe environment.

Raising a concern

If you are worried about the welfare of a swimmer, or about the behaviour of anyone involved with the club, please speak to the club welfare officer. You can also speak to a coach or committee member, who will pass your concern on.

If a child tells you something worrying

  • Listen and stay calm.
  • Don’t promise to keep it a secret, and don’t investigate yourself.
  • Report it promptly to the club welfare officer.
  • If the child is in immediate danger, call 999.
